Lesson Policy

Teaching Guitar to a young student

Scheduling

Due to the fullness of my schedule, I ask that students do their best to commit to a consistent time slot. Lessons can be scheduled either in person the previous week or by phone, text, or email. Please plan to be at your home or my location at the scheduled lesson time. I don't mind sitting in the car for a few minutes, but my lesson schedule is very full, so I may not be able to tack on extra time to make up for tardiness. Due to my tight schedule and the unreliability of car commuting in a highly populated area, I may be up to ten minutes late without warning, but lessons will always be full length if I run behind.

Changing Lesson Times

It is OKAY to reschedule lessons if something comes up. I get it, life is hectic, sometimes you get sick or have to work at the last minute, but I can't always promise a spot that we'll both be available for. If you need to reschedule a guitar lesson, I will offer you a make up during all my available time slots. Even with a full schedule, I may have a few slots available due to other cancellations and off times. Guitar lessons aren't always the most important thing on your plate and I don't expect them to be. With that said, I can only base reschedules off of my availability, and will not postpone payment dates for missed sessions.  If a spot becomes available in the next check period, I will still make up time from a previous period.

Location

I will generally travel about 20 miles from my uptown address to student's homes.  I offer lessons to students in New Orleans, Metaire, and most of the West Bank.  There may be some additional cost for distance.

Payment

The first monthly payment will be due at the beginning of the first lesson.  Payments cover four lessons, the best way to schedule these is at a consistent time every week, although reschedules can be made based on availability.  Following that, the payment will be due at the end of the fourth lesson, NOT the beginning of the next package.  I set up payments this way to keep myself protected, as instances have occurred where I've gone to a home only to have the student not there, and been out time and money for showing up and not having anyone there.
