Due to our busy schedules, we ask that students do their best to commit to a consistent time slot. Lessons can be scheduled either in person the previous week or by phone, text, or email. Please plan to be at your home or our location at the scheduled lesson time. We don't mind sitting in the car for a few minutes, but our lesson schedules are very full, so we may not be able to tack on extra time to make up for tardiness. Due to our tight schedules and the unreliability of car commuting in a highly populated city, we may be up to ten minutes late without warning, but lessons will always be full length if your teacher runs behind.
It is OKAY to reschedule lessons if something comes up. We get it, life is hectic, sometimes you get sick or have to work at the last minute, but we can't always promise an open time slot that we'll both be available for. If you need to reschedule a lesson, we'lll offer a make up during available time slots. Even with a full schedule, We may have a few slots available due to other cancellations. Guitar lessons aren't always the most important thing on your plate and we don't expect them to be. With that said, We can only base reschedules off of availability, and will not postpone payment dates for missed sessions. If a spot becomes available in the next check period, I will still make up time from a previous period.
We will generally travel about 12 miles from our uptown address to student's homes. I offer in-home lessons to students in New Orleans, and also have a studio location in Uptown for those who live in Metaire, Kenner, Chalmette, and the West Bank. Due to commute times, we're unable to offer in-home lessons to students in the suburbs, but would still love to work with you!
The first monthly payment will be due at the beginning of the first lesson. Payments cover four lessons, the best way to schedule these is at a consistent time every week, although reschedules can be made based on availability. Following that, the payment will be due at the end of the fourth lesson, NOT the beginning of the next package. We set up our payment structure this way to protect our teacher's time and finances. We've had instances where a teacher drives to an empty house and need to guarantee they are paid fairly for their time.
